Bricklin SV-1 Scottsdale Police Cars Page 9

License Plates used and possibly used license plates on the 3 Bricklin SV-1 Scottsdale Police Cars

When it comes to police cars, different states have different ways of issuing license plates to police

vehicles. The only confirmed Bricklin SV-1 Arizona license plate issued to one of the 3 Bricklin

Scottsdale Police Cars, is number: LG-1553. The LG in the plate number stands for Local Government.

In talking years ago with an officer who worked for the Scottsdale Police Department, he did indicate to me

after asking him, that the custom was in Scottsdale to issue the plates to the police cars in consecutive order.

Not all police departments around the country, may have used this practice. Below shows photos of how the plates

may have been issued to the 3 Bricklin SV-1 Scottsdale Police Cars, had they been issued in consecutive order.

License Plates shown in the photos are non- embossed replicas.

The stories for each state over the decades for issuing police car license plates is well documented on this website for each state ;

If LG-1553 was the 1st plate issued, then it may have gone from LG-1553 to LG-1555

If LG-1553 was the 2nd plate issued, then it may have gone from LG-1552 to LG-1554

If LG-1553 was the 3rd plate issued, then it may have gone from LG-1551 to LG-1553
